As a speech therapist. I finally, making the decision to press on "pause" button...

WIth so much going on with our life, have we actually given time for ourselves to slow down a little? To cope with the storms inside us?

When we provide intervention for my kids with speech therapy and one approach don't work, we will troubleshoot and figure out what else can we do. We reflects after each sessions or each days on what to do or use to help them better. This is also similar to me and also to parents (You all might also think, what other programs/centres are better?).

I always remind myself, to give the best to everyone. Lately, I've been pushing myself to limits, occupying my schedules, and started to feel that the cycles are overwhelming. It did not change my work ethic, but it took more effort than usual. And i think it's time to for a change.

It's really sad to hear about the increase in suicide cases and mental health issues lately. If there are more acceptance and love in our community, we could have support one another better. Being a parent, especially to a child with special needs, is always a tough and long journey.

"Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” – Eleanor Brownn

So thankful for parents being so understanding when i made this abrupt decision. Time is super important, especially when children with special needs are trying to keep up with their peers. Whenever we feel defeated, we bounce back even stronger. It's all about staying strong for our loved ones.
